What you need:
Worsted weight acrylic yarn

Size F (3.75mm) hook

A word to the wise, may sure all your yarn is a similar weight. The purple I used was thinner than the rest, it made the bottom piece not fit right.

Assembly:

With purple- sc bottom to purple stripe
With white- sc top to pink stripe.

Cut two pieces the same size as the sides of the cake from stiff felt.
Slide into cake (this will make the sides stay stiff)

With white- sc back to back of cake. Before closing it up completely, stuff firmly.

For a decorative touch I crocheted along the back edge of the cake top. I did a repeat of hdc 3 in one stitch then slip stitch in the next stitch.
